Dr. Ash ( Prosthodontist )
Dr.Ash graduated from his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2002 after 7 years of study. He then worked as a general dentist from 2002 to 2013 in regional QLD and NSW, before undergoing another 3 years of study, specializing in Prosthodontics at Sydney University and he obtained his doctorate in clinical dentistry.
Since 2016, he has been a Prosthodontic Consultant and a registered specialist. Since the completion of his study, Dr.Ash has published several peer-reviewed publications, has been very involved in the education of the future generation of dentists and has lectured both nationally and internationally.
Dr.Ash then went on to open our beautiful practice ( Wide Bay Central Dental clinic ) in Hervey Bay QLD in 2017. In his spare time, Dr.Ash enjoys spending time with his friends and family, trying out different cuisines, and working on research projects.
Dr. Alan Zhu (Periodontist)
Alan graduated dentistry from The University of Melbourne in 2017 and completed his periodontics specialist program at The University of Queensland. During this time, he was awarded the ADAVB Evident Student Research Prize, RACDS Primary Examinations Commendation award and was most recently, the AOS Young Lecturer Competition winner.
As a clinician, he has experience working in rural NSW, Brisbane and Melbourne in private practice. Concurrently, he also supervised dental students at Charles Sturt University, The University of Queensland and The University of Melbourne.
Alan lives and works in Melbourne and visits to deliver easier access for locals to high quality specialist care. He hopes to provide a comfortable, holistic, and informed experience to all patients to achieve the best outcomes possible.
In his spare time, he plays basketball, tennis and enjoys trying new experiences with his family and friends.
Dr. Tiago Braga ( Endodontic Treatments )
Dr. Braga graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science in December 2003. In 2007 he completed a Specialization Course in Endodontics, Sao Paulo, Brazil followed by an extension in Endodontic Microscopy at PERF – Pacific Endodontic Research Foundation, San Diego, CA.
He has also a Postgraduation Degree in Endodontic Microsurgery at Pennsylvania University, Philadelphia. Over the past 14 years, Dr. Braga has been dedicated to teaching endodontics.
From 2014 to 2023 he has worked at the School of Medicine and Dentistry Griffith University. He is the former coordinator of the Master of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics and now is a clinical delegate of the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics Course. Dr. Tiago Braga also lives and works on the Gold Coast, he visits our practice here at Wide Bay Central Dental to provide locals endodontics treatments.
In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, travelling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. Julia Ahn ( General Dentist )
Dr. Julia obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2018. She has worked in regional Victoria and Queensland before arriving in Hervey Bay. Before dentistry, she studied neuroscience and psychology at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Julia enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and believes in an ethical approach to helping patients gain confidence in their oral health and smile. She understands that visiting a dentist can be daunting even to some of the bravest people, and is happy to guide patients through their treatment needs at a pace comfortable for them.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Julia loves spending time with her husband and any activity involving beaches and coffee.
Dr. Sarah ( General Dentist )
Dr Sarah graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science with distinction and a Master of Dentistry. Dr Sarah has worked in the dental industry ever since working in both reception and assisting roles before and during her studies. After obtaining her qualification, Dr Sarah worked in private practice in Brisbane before moving to the bay with her husband.
Dr Sarah enjoyed going to the dentist as a kid but had no inclination to be a dentist until she started working as a dental assistant in 2014. Dr Sarah has a passion for improving the patient experience and helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist. She welcomes the use of headphones and distraction techniques to make the experience less stressful.
Dr Sarah enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in periodontal treatments (treatment of the gums). Dr Sarah regularly attends courses around Australia to improve and update her skills.
